Lustre
Lakeside Arts Centre, Nottingham, 8-9 November
- a fantastic opportunity to browse and buy the work of the country's most exciting contemporary craft designers. It's based at Lakeside, the University of Nottingham's public arts facility in the picturesque surroundings of Highfields Park and boating lake. The annual event welcomes anyone interested in discovering unique pieces of jewellery, textiles, ceramics, glass, wood or metalwork.

Coasting: Turner and Bonington
Nottingham Castle, 15 Nov - 15 Feb 2009
- an exhibition providing a rare chance to see the work of JMW Turner alongside Nottingham's own star of 19th century landscape painting, RP Bonington. Coasting reveals how, through their shared interest in the Channel coasts of England and France, both artists drew on and transformed the traditions of landscape and marine painting in Britain, France and Holland.

Next We Change Earth is the inaugural exhibition of this new £5m arts project, followed by two performance pieces from Kno Love Dance Theatre, Breaking Cycles and Makin projects, in association with The Albany.

bang! Short Film Festival
Broadway media centre, Nottingham 29-30 November
- showcase of the freshest new filmmakers in Nottingham, highlighting the best of what's out there: animation, drama, documentary, comedy, anything goes.
